I wish there were cookie trees.

blurry baker, no..really.

Of course then, I'd be twice or three times my size.. which reminds me folks, I signed up for my gym membership today. A longtime, good friend of mine is a trainer at said gym and by the grapevine I was told I should get crackin' on a gym membership...and no, I'm not going on some off the wall, start counting the amt of grapes I eat in a sitting type diet, I'm just gonna work it! Cause that's what you gots to do to *stay* in shape.

I actually eat semi healthy on a normal basis, well... when I'm not staying at family's house.. I do eat fairly well. Tons of fruit and veggies in my diet, mostly soy milk, butter and the like.. very little fatty meats.. frying is a distant word in my vocab, I read ALL the labels on what I buy, eat, taste.. you know. I would say my only REAL pitfalls are Starbucks..and thats only because I don't drink coffee for the taste of coffee =P.... and my addiction to soda. So you see, it's really a liquid issue... although I don't know if I could go a month without a couple good, heart sandwiches or mexican food.. which I'm sure weighs the issue down, literally. But as I said, I'm not putting a full press stop to the things I love to eat.. although I try to use the weekdays as a platform to eat healthier and let loose on the weekends, I'm not going to get down on myself, much less count my damn grapes.. It's really not about the food for me, it's about the laziness.. so I'm FIXing that.

Now, back to less healthy ideals.. I made chocolate chip toffee cookies for my fam, Boy and for our new friends we're meeting with tomorrow. (psuedotherapy)...whatever works right?

dark, beautiful, and glorious.

the batter.

upclose on the good stuff.

so when i finally got around to taking a picture of the finished product, it was dark out and my picture ended up being quite yella - which i wasn't terribly fond of.. so i brightened it up and turned it black and a white, which i also wasn't crazy about at first..but then i thought about the recipe, which i had gotten out of my grandma's better homes and gardens cookbook that's probably older than me.. i always use to it for measuring purposes as i KNOW whats in cookies, man. but i thought this black and white photo paid somewhat a bit of homage to the photos of the cookies in the BH&G cookbook i so often pick up when i am here... now, i love the photo.

I think it's so sweet that you made that connection b/w your b&w picture and your memory of using your grandmother's cookbook. I bet when you think of it in that light, your chocolate chip cookies are in glorious Technicolor!

Oh, and thank you for visiting my site!
