Faux Works.

I needed something creamy, something cozy, warm and full of yum. I knew we had pork chops thawing in the fridge, so I quick started marinading them in a simple roasted red pepper, chopped tomatoes and shaved parmesan, s&p of course.. let that marinate for a few hours, meanwhile contemplating what creamy, cozy, cheesy..yes, cheesy vehicle I wanted to put my chops on.

I was thinking risotto.. but not only did I not have the proper ingredients, I've never attempted risotto, I've only had it once and was quickly transported to creamy, lofty heaven..

So I marched into my kitchen, determined to pull off a damn near risotto like pot with only jasmine rice in hand... well, my friends I'll never give my secrets away for this but with a little chicken stock, garlic, parmesan, soy milk and a few other ingredients later I pulled off what I ALMOST fooled my chef of a husband as risotto!

I will say no more, just feast your eyes....

grilled pork, fresh sage, rosemary and basil

prickly pinks from a local botanical garden.

wouldnt this be a beautiful entrance to a house?
